Comment:

 backported to relbr6 & tested ok on 64bit linux.

 devbr6 tested ok in 32bit nightly wingrass build with a 1.1gb file (top
 half of the above sample).

 closing ticket, moving LFS audit to #1990 and keeping an eye on #1131 for
 6.4.4.
