So if the core libraries and modules work fine under all
supported OS, why not detach the GRASS 7 core release cycle
from that of the GUI?

If we considered both the GUI and the Python support optional,
then it would be possible to release a stable GRASS 7 core
soon and allow third parties, such as QGIS and gvSIG, do build
on it, no?
