Comment:

 Makes sense to me. For example [http://www.uoguelph.ca/~hydrogeo/Whitebox/
 Whitebox] has a ''View Code'' button in the
 [https://whiteboxgeospatial.wordpress.com/2014/05/04/so-what-exactly-is-
 open-access-software/ the GUI]:

 The documentations seems a better place but I can see a reason why they
 decided for GUI (similarly to ''Modify Help Entry'' button).

 For start you can try to add it to the footer of the manual page. The
 [source:grass/trunk/tools/mkhtml.py tools/mkhtml.py] is where it is
 implemented.
