 r.colors and v.colors could be improved by adding more editing options to
 the GUI. A text editor for color rules paired with a preview pane showing
 the color ramp would allow users to more easily develop and test custom
 tables. Ideally they could also load GRASS color tables or rule files for
 editing and previewing.

 Another related option would be a graphical editor for color ramps that
 allows users to set and drag breakpoints. This could be a ramp with
 sliders for breakpoints. The number of breakpoints and their initial
 distribution (equal, log, histogram eq., stdev, etc) could be parameters
 in dialog boxes.
