The best way to start on your application for this topic is compiling
v.in.pdal module (vector/v.in.pdal directory) with latest PDAL, see #3243
[1]. Read also #2732 [2], so you have a bigger picture and than you can
develop the idea more at the wiki [3], so you can get an early feedback.
You can also create tickets for specific things if you think that would
work better. You can of course solve some of them or some other ones in the
application period. Be sure to follow the tips on the wiki [4].
