 As far as I understand the discussion there, I suggested addons as an
 alternative to [https://lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/grass-
 dev/2014-November/071492.html removal]. I don't know how it got to
 [https://lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/grass-dev/2014-November/071491.html the
 original "dead code" list]. Perhaps it was just considered to be
 superseded by r.out.gdal?
