 The histogram tool in the Map Display toolbar "Create histogram of raster
 map" does not really create what we usually call histogram (which consists
 of bar plots). Instead, it creates a line plot. So, the name does not
 really apply. Would it be possible to have proper histograms or is it too
 much of a hassle?

 G7:d.hitogram indeed creates a proper histogram but it is not really
 customizable.
