 FWIW, it has always not worked on the Mac. Whether you quit GRASS or quit
 the GUI, you still get bumped back to the terminal where you must type
 "exit" to end the session.

 It would be nice if selecting Quit GRASS actually exited from the GRASS
 shell and environment. Barring that, it would be better just to have the
 Quit GUI button, with an info box that says "Type 'exit' to quit GRASS
 entirely'.
