Comment:

 While I am all for such a change we need to be sure that the new default
 font is actually present on the user system (the built-in Hershey fonts
 are shipped with GRASS GIS).

 In case we need a fall-back logic a built-in font when the new default
 font (I suppose true-type) isn't there.
