GRASS GIS contributions would be very welcome.

I don't know, yet, if I will be in Brussels at the time. If yes, I can
try to propose something.

Moritz

Dear list,

FOSDEM is a free and non-commercial event bringing together about 8000
developers in Brussels, Belgium. The next edition will take place on 1 &
2 February 2020 and provide open source software developers, endusers
and communities a place to share minds, tech and beer. Participation is
free of charge, although donations are welcome.

Sunday 2 Feb 2019 from 9.00-17.00, the Geospatial Devroom offers – for
the 6th consecutive time - a podium for everything open geospatial
technology and information related.

Geospatial technologies and mapping used to be specialists work, but
nowadays location intelligence is becoming part of many
industries/products/projects/applications, which often use only a small
subset of the possibilities the data and software have to offer.

The Geospatial Devroom is the right place to talk about open geospatial
topics related to data, software and community. This includes standards,
usage and tools, e.g. for (temporal-)spatial databases, and online
mapping, temporal-spatial analysis, geospatial services, used for
collection, storage, processing, delivery, analysis, and visualizing
purposes.

We welcome submissions (projects, demo's, use cases, code wizardry, etc) :

  1. Web and desktop GIS applications;
  2. Interoperable geospatial web services and specifications;
  3. Collection of data using sensors / UAVs / satellites;
  4. Geo-analytic algorithms & libraries;
  5. Spatial extensions for classical databases (indexes, operations) and
     dedicated databases;
  6. Big Geospatial Data processing, distributed and scalable in the Cloud;
  7. Geospatial intelligence for Smart Cities, IoT and Automotive;
  8. Volunteered & Crowdsourced data examples with e.g. OpenStreetMap
  9. .... or something geospatial we did not think of !
