[STATSGRASS] grass 61/R kriging and splining

I just read Roger and Markus's paper "Open Source geocomputation:
using the R data analysis language integrated with GRASS GIS and
PostgreSQL data base systems" with great interest, as I was looking
for kriging and splining examples with GRASS and R, and I have just
moved my databases over to PostgreSQL.

There was a reference to document updates in the introduction that
may be available on the Hannover site (however I was not able to find
anything). Are there any more recent versions of this paper
(particularly that address GRASS 6.1 differences). As an alternative,
is anyone aware of other kriging or splining examples (I have read
the GRASS / R interface article that appeared in vol. 3 of the GRASS
news letter) ?

If not, that's ok... I'll continue to muddle forward. But if there
are some additional documented kriging and splining examples
performed on GRASS 6.1, I would love to see them.

As always, thanks for the thoughts.

Kirk
