[GRASS-stats] Kriging method and estimator?

Dear all,

Sorry for this newbie question but perhaps somebody can help:
I'm having irregular point data and like to integrate a kriging tool
which covers most use cases.
The problem is that I don't know much of the data in advance except
that it's coming from precision farming sensors.
And I'd like to offer as few knobs (GUI parameters) as possible.
Now, I think I could use the simple Kriging method (not ordinary) with
estimator \hat{Z}(x).
In the worst case this would be as good as arithmetic mean.
Any suggestions?
