which digitizer to buy?

I'm interested in buying a small (table-top) digitizer.  Has anyone
recently surveyed the market and compiled a list of vendors/prices?
I'm looking for something fairly inexpensive (I'm not planning any
major database development---just want something to play with).

Functionality with the existing drivers would be good, but I would be
willing to write my own driver if it would save a hundred bucks or so.
