Volume Calculation of Area for Reservoir Analysis using Grass

Hi.  I recently downloaded grass and the alpha xgrass interface
and am using them on SGI and HP machines.  Our group performs seismic
safety studies of dams among aother things.  What we would like to do
is use Grass to determine the volumetric capacity of a valley from
dem data.  Can you tell me if this is possible and point me in
the right direction?
