Grass4.0-on-Linux

In our lab. @Univ.-Trento-Italy we would like to get Grass4.0
running on a PC.
At the present we are using it on a SUN using Linux (a Free unix-clone
for PCs)  on the local PC as X-server.                  t
We would like to use it on a stand-alone Linux-System.

Could someone inform me about available ports of Grass4.0 or patches?

We are also interested to contact someone that is working on that.
