I recommend that you contact Dr. David Knowles in the Dept. of Civil Eng.
here at the U. of Arkansas (501) 575-3403. He has developed a software
program for professional surveyors that calculates the position of the
sun for determining True North. The input that is required is lat/lon
of position, date, and UTC time.
