RIM question

Hello GRASS World,
I've just begun using RIM with my vector maps, and had a couple of
questions that I'm hoping someone can answer...
I was successful at creating a database with the 5 necessary fields and
one additional field which is an integer 1-4 numbers long.  I've read
the vector map into the database, which filled in the first 5 fields,
but did not fill in the last field called 'unit'.  The 'unit' number is
in my dig_att file, so it should be able to be pulled in.
Any suggestions?  I've tried a few things already with no success.
