How to rotate a DEM?

no experience, but some info to get started.
export the grass raster map, create a ppm file,
use pnmrotate -noantialias (from related), 
import back into grass.

As far as keeping the georeferencing/map quality good,
be careful.  

I have a v.rotate command started (which may get finished
by the end of the year). Is there a need for a r.rotate
among others?
