help!--v.digit to raster conversion

I can think of two things off the top that may be causing the problem.
One, when a vector file is converted to a raster file the line quality
is not comparable because you are dealing with cells of a certain
resolution which will not convert to straight lines unless the lines
are perfectly vertical or horizontal.  The data still has integrety but
it doesn't look good on the screen.  

Two, if the vector lines you digitized in v.digit are the edges of areas,
then you want to use the area edge mode and lable the whole polygon instead
of the individual lines.
