installation prob

Hello:

I have just compiled GRASS 4.0 on a Sun Sparc2.  The compilation under GISGEN
produced no errors.  But I am having problems when I start Grass.  

Specifically I have 2 problems:

1. When I type grass4.0 the initial greeting screen comes up ok, but when I press
"escape" to accept the database locations the following screen information comes
up totally unformatted on the screen--maybe it's a terminal emulation problem.
Then when I exit grass my system prompt returns--left justified in the window. But,
as I enter commands at the prompt and press return the prompt begins walking across
the screen like this:

rick at rsgis3>  <return>
                rick at rsgis3>   <return>
                                  rick at rsgis3>  .....etc

2. Problem two involves d.mon.  I get the following error message:

	Error:  could not execute '/usr6/local3/grass4.0/sun4/driver/SUNVIEW'
	Error - Could not complete locking process for monitor <sunview>
	Lock file is /usr6/local3/grass4.0/sun4/locks/rsgis3/rsgis3:0/sunview
	Problem selecting sunview. Will try once more
I looked in the ./sun4/driver directory for 'SUNVIEW' and found no files.  I am
assuming that the drivers get placed there as a result of running GISGEN.  Before
running GISGEN I did edit 'lists/local' file.
