You can use the PBMPLUS(src.related/pbmplus) programs tifftoppm and pnmtorast (use -s option) to move the image from tiff to sun rasterfile format. Then use r.in.sunrast (src.alpha) to import the rast file into GRASS as a image file. Mark O. Johnson USACERL
