To run GRASS r.in.erdas command to convert ERDAS ".lan" or ".gis" file into
GRASS raster format, you have to convert ERDAS 7.4 or 7.5 format into 7.3. With
using ERDAS version 7.5, we had successfully used "cvt73" command to convert
7.5 header into 7.3, which is readable by GRASS r.in.erdas.

When you run r.in.erdas, please make sure that the inupt erdas 7.3 filename
has full name entered (including extension name, such as "image.gis") and
corresponding trailer file name with extention name (".trl" or ".sta") entered.
The trailer file is built by ERDAS command "BSTATS".

If the above option doesn't work for some reason on your sites, please try the
general conversion routine with ERDAS DMPDATA command, then you could either
directly move the output file into $LOCATION/cell directory or use i.tape.other
read the output disk file (multi-bands) into a GRASS image group.

Good Luck.
