(This is an automatically generated message. The short summary is
that any references to the host "pit-manager" or "pit-manager.mit.edu"

and "18.70.0.226" should be replaced with references to "18.70.0.224".
If you want more detail than that, please keep reading. If the errant
reference in your posting was contained in text quoted from another

This message is being sent to inform you of a change in the name and
IP address of pit-manager. Although the name "pit-manager.mit.edu"
will continue to work, I am trying to get people to start using
"rtfm.mit.edu" instead. Therefore, I would appreciate it if you would
refer to "rtfm" in the future instead of "pit-manager". If you
maintain periodic postings which refer to "pit-manager", please modify
them to refer to "rtfm" instead.

Mentioning the IP address of a host explicitly is discouraged, because
IP addresses are less stable than host names. If you must continue to
mention rtfm.mit.edu's IP address in postings, then please use
18.70.0.224, its new address, rather than 18.172.1.27 or 18.70.0.226.

You may notice that the names "pit-manager.mit.edu" and "rtfm.mit.edu"
are actually nicknames for a machine whose canonical name is
"charon.mit.edu". However, the name "rtfm.mit.edu" will continue to
work, even if the canonical name of the machine to which it refers
changes again in the future, so you should use it starting now.

Thank you for your attention.
