Hi, everybody.
I am having problems with d.rast.edit, which refuses to run, reporting
the message:
"current window resolution does not match cell layer's resolution"
Browsing through the manual, I did not find the solution, but I sort of
got a "feeling" about it (I hope): there are in fact commands, as r.neighbors
and such, that the manual recommends to run using the default region values
for resolution, I imagine because the values from which GRASS displays
the images when using a different one are automatically resampled, but
do not physically exist in the cell file (am I right ???).
However, if so I would be in trouble. Let me explain:
My default window covers the whole area for Italy, and I have set a resolution
for it that is quite low, to match the 1:100000 cartography for the area (32x25)
However, the data I am working on now is represented by the DEM corresponding
to ONE of these 1:100000 DEMs, which has a resolution of about 7".
Now, does the message intend that I have to set the resolution to that corresponding
to the 32x25 division, or to that of the 1:100000 map ?
In the first case, I would be able to do no editing, because I would not be
able to see anything in my window (except a big square); in the second case, it
is a bit of a mess, because when I imported the DEM (r.in.ascii), I specified
rows&cols, but not the resolution for that image (which Grass should
re-compute anyway), but that I do not know exactly...
Thanks to anybody who will clear my ideas.
