DECstation 3100 install

Hi,

I would appreciate some advice from DEC users on compiling GRASS source for a
DECstation 3100 (Ultrix 4.2a). I'll pose the first of my questions here 
on the list in the hope of making contact with a knowledgable user or
two who wouldn't mind answering a few more questions as they come up.

When the utils/setup script checks out my compiler (cc) it says it is an
ANSI-C compiler and that "Compile flags must be defined to make it
behave like a K&R C compiler". What flags are needed for proper
compilation? Compiling with -O gives me a number of ccom warnings like,
