Applying a DEM to a slant range image...

     I have a slant range image and an elevation map for the image.  I would
like to register the slant-range image to the elevation map.  One way to do
this would be to turn the elevation map into a slant range image and then
use i.rectify to rectify my image to the new elevation map.  Can
grass change the elevation map in this way?
     Easier still would be if there is a routine that applys an elevation
map to a slant range image.
