Greetings, I noticed several messages regarding DEM extraction using m.dem.extract. Most of the problems I've encountered could be traced to carriage control characters in the DEM file. Try removing all carriage returns and line feeds (CR/LF). Often these are added when the DEM file is dumped from tape to disk. Andrew Hertz hertz at geog.psu.edu
