errors in v.proj?

Hello GRASSuser's;
	Thanks to those who responded to my State Plane problem; after
receiving your replies, I have compiled and attempted to use v.proj
to move vector files from UTM to State Plane.

The problem comes in running v.proj;  after it created the new mapset
in the appropriate projection it bombs out with 

sh: v.projINV not found


I noticed that v.projINV was in $GISBASE/mapgent/etc, and added that to my 
PATH statement, but still no luck.  Any special tricks to setting up v.proj
on a SUN IPX that I don't know about?  Thank You.
