I have been having difficulties with v.reclass. I am trying to make
an outline of wetland areas for the San Francisco Bay area from
many wetlands 7.5 min quad dig files. I have relabeled contiguous
wetland types to one wetland area category. I would like to dissolve the
inner boundaries and keep only the outline. v.reclass -d does
so, but only on smaller files. If I run it on my large vector file:
(2549387 bytes)
v.reclass -d input=wetlands3 output=wetlands4 type=area < RECLASS/wetlands_env
Loading vector information for <wetlands2>.
        Processing Segmentation fault
if I run it interactively, I make it through assigning numbers and through
assigning cat text, and then:
Loading vector information for <wetlands3>.
        Processing sh: 11918 Memory fault
You have just reclassified map [wetlands3 in nwi3]
into new map [wetlands4 in nwi3]
needless to say dig/wetlands4 has 0 bytes.
Any ideas?
