24-bit driver

I guess I did not make myself clear.  The project I am working on
does not use GRASS, therefore our problem/solution had nothing
to do with GRASS.  We ran into the 8 bit vs. 24 bit display 
problem as we are working on some display software.  Hope I didn't
get anybody to excited about having a 24 bit X driver for GRASS.
