Vector Smoothing

Has anyone developed or know of a vector smoothing routine for a GRASS vector
file?

We have converted a raster file to vector (with corners smoothed) but we still
have the vector following the cell edges.

We are looking for something similar to bspline which would do a "best fit"
curve through the vector data points.
