My echo of the compilation shows the call to gmake4.1 with a full path:
/files/data/heart/data1/grassdir/home/bin/gmake4.1 polytocell
Check the Gmakefile on r.le.setup. Apparently $GMAKE is not set properly.
The assignment of GMAKE should be defined in src/CMD/GISGEN.sun4
