More Compilation Problems with GRASS 4.1 and the SGI

Well, here's another difficulty that I'm encountering with GRASS 4.1

I've finally managed to compile the source code. Now, however, I can't seem
to be able to open a graphics monitor. 

At the GRASS 4.1 prompt, I type d.mon.
Then , I select (1) to start a graphics monitor.
It then asks for the name of a graphics monitor. I'm working on an SGI; how
do I name or select a graph. monitor.

If you know the answer to this basic question, please let me know.
