point patterns

In the ncgia pub list I find: 
  "91-19: The Use of a GIS for Second-Order Analysis of Spatial Point 
   Patterns. by Mark MacLennan, describes a computer program for GRASS 
   which implements second-order neighborhood analysis."  

The paper talks about a program called Gstat (for 3.1).  Does anyone
know what happended to the Gstat program? I sent a message to (who I
thought was) the author of this paper/program, but never received a 
reply.
