Program to Measure Depth of Freeze/Thaw

I received a call from David Wait   801/532-2230 regarding a
program that deals with:

Digital Solution of Modified Bergner(????) Equation which
calculates the Depth of Freeze/ Thaw in Multi-Layers.

I am not sure if this is a GRASS issue.  I was unable to help
him.  Is there anyone out there who can provide some assistance.
