errors in v.proj?

You are using old, SCS written v.proj. The new one does not call v.projINV
or v.projFOR and it has lots of new nice things about it -- like it
lets you convert a file from one location (like UTM) to other projection
(like State Plane) and put the resulting file in
some specified State Plane location,
as opposed to having UTM and State Plane mapsets in UTM location.
The new version of v.proj is being released by CERL as part of GRASS4.1
