soil erosion

I have a question maybe the SCS grass users can answer.  What is the best way to show the erosion potential (wind and water), such as for an EIS.  I have soil data, elevation, vegetation cover, slope, etc.  Should I use K values? Slope? Run the usle through mapcalc?  If I do the usle, how do I figure LS from the maps I have?
