Keith,

I hate to rain on your parade, but in answer to your question about waiting 
for r.drain, I have never encountered a slower program.  Once, I let it
run for 17 hours (on a kick-but mainframe) before I killed it, still un-
completed.  If someone can give you a more optimistic response, please
pass it on!  Lots of us in GRASSLAND have had the problem.
