Simon,
It is possible to do this... the SCS version of GRASS allows
users to "move" from one to another location. The key is
in GIS.sh. You can revise GIS.sh so that the basic section
is in a do while loop and that the monitor is released only
when you fully exit. Basically you have to start the
while loop before the call to $ETC/gis_set and need to move the
g.gisenv MONITOR= statement to BRFORE the loop starts
you end the loop before removing the lockfile.
This is from memory -- if there is an SCS type they can
post the GIS.sh for us all...
