I am using grass on a Sun SPSARC5 running Solaris.  Recently, I tried
to use "d.mon start=x0".  The x0 window is created, but then the GRASS
prompt is not returned.  Also, if I control-C to break out, GRASS seems
to think the window is still active.

Are sure your .grassrc file is set correctly.  You may have made the window 
too small.  Check it first, it may give you some hint.
