r.out.ascii does not carry with it any of the ascii support files (with
the exception of the optional cellheader information).  Thus the cats,
cell_misc, colr and hist files all need to be transferred or recreated
if you are re-importing a given r.out.ascii file.  These support files 
are all ascii files and relatively small, thus are easy to send, 
attach, etc to an ascii raster file.    Hope this helps.
