3D DXF files

I have a DXF file of contours.  All the lines are already 3D polylines.
Does v.in.dxf recognize the 3D line, or do i still need to use v.cadlabel
 
I can get the 3d polylines in any text form I want besides DXF, would
that be useful for a different import program?  Are there implications
such as v.in.dxf would recognize AREA AND LINES, vs other method only
recognize lines... etc.
