  if you have a car while you are here there are cheaper places in Herndon,
  VA just a couple of miles from the conference.  they are about half the
  price of the Hyatt and just as nice.  you just don't pay for the amenities
  of being in Reston Town Center.  

   Try the Comfort Inn  703-437-7555   200 Elden St. Herndon--our out of
   town USGS personel stay their frequently.

   There is also Courtyard by Marriott  703-478-9400  533 Herndon Parkway,
   Herndon
  
   Dulles Airport Days Inn 703-471-8086; 2200 Centreville Rd., Herndon

   Marriott Suites, 703-709-1234, 12101 Worldgate Dr. Herndon

   Residence Inn by Marriott, 703-435-0044, 315 Elden St. Herndon

   Sheraton Reston Hotel, 703-620-9000, 11810 Sunrise Valley Drive, Reston
      (This one is within 1/4- 1/2 mile of the Hyatt--definately walking 
       distance)

   Wellesley Inns 485 Elden St. Herndon 703-478-9777  (I believe this is
      now a Holiday Express.)

  Most of these are much cheaper than the Hyatt.  I think it has the most
  expensive rates around.
