v.digit, v.patch

Grasshoppers,

I am importing digitized lines (spaghetti) and v.patching them
to a base map.  My problem is when I go into v.digit to label 
the new areas.  These new lines appear in blue and I am not 
able to label them as areas.  What am I doing wrong? Note: I
have already run v.support, v.trim, v.spag, v.clean on the
new data.
