Subject: State Plane in meters

Hi there again
Yesterday I put a question on the list about the zone number of a State Plane zone. That did work with the zone number 2001.
But when I make the mapset in state plane projection the units are feet.
All the maps I have are in state plane but the units are meters, is it possible to change the standard setting.
