Combining vector maps

Hello,

I have several vector maps created by r.contour.  I would like
to join them.  I used v.patch to create one file and it looks
fine on the screen.  When I go to print with ps.map, it does
not connect the lines.  

	How can I get the contour lines to match up?

ps. same thing happens when I print them out indivigually.
