GRASS meeting repost: Abstracts now due Jan 30

I am re-posting the announcement for the GRASS users meeting in a more readable
format and want to announce that abstracts for papers and posters are not
due until Jan 30 (extended from Jan 15).


The 9th Annual GRASS GIS User's Conference and Exhibition 
 
Sponsered by the Open GIS Foundation, Hosted by the USDA Soil Conservation
Service,

March 13-18,'94 The Hyatt Regency Hotel, Reston Virginia, USA. 

You are invited to present a technical paper or poster in the Conference and 
Exhibition.  The theme is "Open GIS: Interoperability in Development and 
Applications".  

The following topics are particularly encouraged: 

Land and Env. Management, Military Engineering Applications, Social Sciences,
 Resource Management, Computer Science & GIS.  

Abstracts should be received by January 30, '94.  

Contributers should submit a 200 word abstract
that includes the paper title, a summary, the author's name, address, phone 
number, fax, and internet address (if avail.) to:

Workshops 9:00a.m.-12:00p.m. (Intro to GRASS,  LTPlus, SQL Database & GRASS),
1:30-4:30p.m. (Advanced GRASS, XGRASS,Cartographic Output, Projections & 
Coordinate Systems); 

Monday, March 14- Workshops 8:00a.m.-11:00a.m.(Intro to GRASS, Advanced GRASS, 
GRASS & Soils Databases, Data Development),12:00-3:00p.m.(SQL Databases & GRASS, Image Processing & GRASS,Administraion of GRASS Systems, Data Issues);GPS Workshop & Field Trip, Field Trip to USGS GIS Lab, Opening Plenary Session, 
Reception, Exhibit Hall; 

Tuesday, March 15- Paper Sessions, Posters, Exhibit Hall; 

Wednesday, March 16-Paper Sessions, Posters,Exhibit Hall,GRASS Banquet;

Thursday, March 17- Exhibit Hall, Panel Discussions: (Open GIS, GIS Application Integration, Information Infrastructure & Federal Activities), Closing Plenary 
Session; 

Friday, March 18- Birds of a Feather Meetings (each agency or organization or user group (global analysis, etc. meets seperately)-SCS, NPS, GIACC (GRASS 
Inter-agency coordinating committee).

Full Registration includes all paper and poster sessions, plenary sessions, 

panel discussions, field trips, the opening reception and access to 
the exhibit hall.

Registration will be confirmed by mail within 4 weeks of the receipt of

Registration Fees are as Follows: Full Registration- $250, Daily Registration- 
$100, Student Registration- $50, Workshops- with full regis.- $75 each, 
Workshops only- $125 each, Banquet- $25.  

Accommodations: a block of rooms is being held at the conference hotel, the 
Hyatt Regency Reston.  The Conference rate is $103 single,$123 Double, which is within the government perdiem for Reston.  Call (703) 709-1234 or 800-233-1234
