I have taken slides of the screen with excellent results in the past,
several hints:
1) Use a totally dark room - this decreases glare and increases contrast.
2) Use a telephoto (or zoom) lens - this dimminishes the distortion of the
curved screen
3) Try to zoom in as much as possible to get only the screen - don't
purposefully include the monitor frame (the plastic edge around the glass).
It is not possible to get a picture without some of the frame included but
since you are in a dark room it shouldn't appear on the slides.
