r.contour

Has anyone used the 'r.contour' function - I tried it on a 'potential 
evaporation' raster we have and got a 'out of memory' error on 
G_(m?)alloc function - used all the default settings.

Tried it on a small test data set (10x10 grid) and got the same error 
message.

Also the speed was slow in both cases.

Any ideas ??
