Querying a layer by location

Hello Grass Users

I am working with an AVHRR image and would like to find what the DN value
of a particular location that I already know the coordinates for, without
having to do d.what.rast and click around the general area around the
region. Is there a command that I could use to input the coordinates I
want, and have GRASS search the image and give me what the value is at
that particular location?
